Intermediate Scaffolding

COURSE CONTENT

This course is designed for applicants to obtain the necessary skills to erect and disassemble intermediate scaffolding configurations to meet the requirements of SafeWork NSW for an intermediate scaffolding license.

Once applicants have completed this course they will be able to carry out all the basic scaffolding tasks (See Basic Scaffolding for more details) as well as - *Installation of cantilevered crane loading platforms. *Erection and dismantling of cantilevered and spurred scaffolds. *Erection and dismantling of barrow ramps and sloping platforms. *Scaffolding associated with perimeter safety screens and shutters. *Erection and dismantling of mast climbers. *Erection, alteration and dismantling of tube and coupler scaffolds including tube and coupler covered ways and gantries.

It is a mandatory requirement that participants enrolled in the intermediate scaffolding program already have their basic scaffolding licence.

PREREQUISITES

  • Ability to understand and write English.
  • 18 years of age
  • Participants must provide their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including safety boots, hard hat and a high visibility vest.
  • Participants will need enough strength to lift up to 20kg infrequency from the ground to overhead and access heights above 2 meters

Participants must wear correct safety clothing which includes: trousers, long sleeved shirt, safety boots, gloves, glasses, and helmet.

DURATION AND COST

4 days of training - 3 days classroom based learning + 1 day for SafeWork NSW assessment
