BASIC RIGGING (RB) COURSE
CONTENT At ACT we are committed to provide comprehensive training
that produces superior skills to lead to a more productive and safer
workplace. The Basic Rigging course is designed to provide
participants with the fundamentals and confidence to perform Rigging work
safely and equip them with the knowledge to obtain their Certificate of
Competency Class RB. The Basic Rigging Certificate allows you to perform
rigging work related to: ·
Movement of
plant and equipment ·
Steel erection ·
Particular
hoists placement of pre-cast concrete ·
Safety nets and
static lines ·
Mast climbers ·
Perimeter
safety screens and shutters ·
Cantilevered crane loading
platforms Some aspects of the course include: ·
Occupational
Health & Safety ·
Job planning
– hazard identification and put in place measures for safe movement of
loads ·
Mass of objects ·
Use,
maintenance and inspection of terminals, fittings and accessories ·
Slinging of loads;
·
Use of
cranes/crane signals to operator ·
Inspection and
donning of safety harness ·
Static lines,
anchorages, winches, fleet angles, purchases, needle supports, plan reading,
hitches and splices ·
Various lifting
appliances and equipment ·
Steel erection and
disassembly of structures PREREQUISITES Ability
to understand and write English Good Mathematics ability 18 Years of Age An applicant cannot be issued with a Notice of
Satisfactory Assessment for the license category RB - Basic Rigging if they
are not yet deemed competent in all aspects of the Dogging Assessment. Participants must supply their own Personal
Protective Equipment including safety boots, Hi-Vis garment and a hard hat. A pen, calculator and workbook are also required for
note taking and problem solving. STANDARD Assessment
to National Occupational Health and Safety Certification Standard for Users
and Operators of Industrial Equipment [NOHSC: 1006 (2001)] DURATION 5 day of
